「小孩子」
Paul told us,"Then, we will no longer be infants" (Ephesians
4:14). Paul said that because at that time there were many false prophets &
teachers who led people astray in their Christian belief. Paul wanted the believers to be alert &
not to be infants who could not make sensible decision & choice. To cite an example: A few years before, there
were some wicked merchants in China.
They sold the poison milk powder in the market. As a result, many babies who drank that kind
of milk powder became abnormal or died.
It's the same case to Paul who didn't want us to be the infants to take
the poison milk powder (i.e. false teaching away from the truth) given by the
false prophets & teachers.
Now,
I am going to share something in my personal experience on spiritual growth
that illustrate the importance of becoming mature in our spiritual life.
Fifteen
years before, when I became a new believer, I began to read the Bible. One day, a devil was disguised as an angel to
teach me the Bible. It woke me up even
in the Midnight to read the Bible. I was
bothered by this spirit for a week. However,
as I was an infant in the Christian belief, I couldn't distinguish it as an
angel or a devil.
After
a week, a couple of Christians came to visit me as I was sick & exhausted
at that time. They told me that a devil might sometimes disguise as an angel
& cheat people who were not mature in their Christian belief. They showed me the texts on this topic in the
Bible.
Then,
I followed the texts & used the technique in the Bible to deal with the
devil. Finally, it drifted away like a
wind from my body. Thank God! I was back to normal again at last.
Don't
think that I am telling you a story! My
friend came across more or less the same case after I had told her about
that. She used the same technique to
deal with the devil who ran away too.
In
a word, to become mature in our spiritual life is very important, especially in
dealing with the devil who is always around us.
Let's be alert & bear Our Lord's words in mind!

We understand and interpret in CONTEXT.
The "children" in the two passages
clearly mean two different things.
One "children" meaning/referring the beginning stage of the new life in Christ, being immature, needing care, needing to grow and so on.
One "children" meaning/referring the simplicity, the simple trust, peace and serenity (of a child).
One "children" meaning/referring the beginning stage of the new life in Christ, being immature, needing care, needing to grow and so on.

The confusion is unnecessary.

「小孩子」
1.) The difference between them
The first one refers to the character of a Christian that should be
simple and direct. In other words, there
is no cheating at all. The second one refers to the spiritual growth or
development of a Christian.
2.) The reason for Jesus to ask us to become
kids again
I
think he wants us to depend totally on Him, just like a little kid who counts
on his or her parents on everything in his/her daily life.
3.) The importance of Paul's advice on us to
be an adult
We
live in a world that is full of temptation. Hence, we need to be an adult in
our spiritual development in order to fight against the temptation and to avoid
being led astray.
In a word, there is no conflict between them:
we need to be a kid in serving & following Jesus. We need to be an adult in our spiritual
growth in order not to be polluted or tempted by the secular world.
