As
you know, we have to travel a long way to worship God every Sunday. As a
consequence, we prepare ourselves by going to bed early every Saturday night so
that we can leave home by 7:30AM the next morning. This allows us to arrive at
church by 8:45 AM or so and leave us 30 minutes to get ready for the worship.
By using this tactics, we were never late to church in the past ten years.
After a while, I started to judge those who were late because of my “success”.
Then, the Lord taught me two lessons. One Sunday morning some years ago while I
was driving on 401E, I found out at the last minute that the exit to McCowan
was closed. Not only that the next few exits were also closed due to road
maintenance. I finally turned around at Brock Road in Pickering. The other
incidence happened after a massive industrial fire near DVP and 401was closed
Sunday morning as a precautionary safety measure. Without prior warning, we had
to take a lengthy detour by going 400N and 7E to cross the city. In both cases,
it was only the grace of our Lord that we could make it to church without being
late. From then on, I left all the judgment with God.
If
we want to be on time for worship, we should treat it as our most important
appointment in our life. Prepare ourselves before the day and the Lord will
help us achieve it.

從圖畫中，想起聖經列王紀下19：30及以賽亞書37：31兩節中共有的兩句：「…往下扎根，向上結果。」
門徒的成長正如一粒種子的成長一樣，要有好的根基，有扎實的信仰基礎，再要加上健康的成長，即有適當和有系統的栽培、在屬靈生命方面的操練，才可以結出好的屬靈果子。
哥林多前書3：11-13說：「因為那已經立好的根基，就是耶穌基督，此外沒有人能立別的根基。若有人用金、銀、寶石、草木、禾稭、在這根基上建造。各人的工程必然顯露，因為那日子要將他表明出來，有火發現，這火要試驗各人的工程怎樣。」
究竟我們在耶穌基督的根基上是甚麼材料，是金銀寶石、抑或是草木禾稭？如果是金銀寶石，則所建造出來的是金銀寶石，否則所得出來的便是草木禾稭。讓我們以生命影響生命來作主的門徒。願意以以上經文彼此互勉。

I think I understand the challenge.
A strict
definition of "disciples" may exclude most if not all of us. On the
other hand, a loose definition as "more serious/participating church-goers"
is not helpful at all. Nobody will think that's what Jesus meant, though that's
what we commonly accept.
Nevertheless,
the difficulty is great. The implication of lowering the bar is fatal. An
author said, "… the Great Commission has been rendered to A Great
Omission".
Lesson 3
"discipleship, as Kory defines it" attempted to let us read more into
Mat 28:18-20. But, we haven't been able to do it in the past. I think Kory
should make a clear case for the stricter definition, at least highlighting the
key ingredients of disciple and the process of disciple-making. I think that's
not a subject of discussion or negotiation

遲到的反思
在日常生活中遲到是會發生的，但若成了慣例，那就可怕了，不但浪費等候你的人的光陰，也會影響自己的個人形象。
剛過去的週二及週四，我都好緊張，因為太極班師傅放假兩週，她委派我及一位同學，主持大局及代她帶領同學們做太極18式，雖然不是太難的任命，但我卻立志做好＂代課老師＂，不但準時開始授課，也要準時下課，所以我是提早15分鐘到達塲地，做好身、心的預備，然後開始一小時的運動，結果是不錯的啊！

The reasons to be successful:

Make up your mind to achieve it

The reasons to end in failure:

"Thinking that a little bit late" is
acceptable.

Didn't set enough time to go to the destination.

On your way, you are easily distracted by other
stuff, e.g. joining the others' conversation.

"To be late" becomes your habit.

To the picture (the one with growing beans) that you showed us last
time, I have the following to add:

Faith in God grows up daily.

God can change us from small to big.
3.)
Teach unbelievers from simple to difficult.
4.)
Step by step to grow among believers.

Day by day to experience God's faithfulness.
As your picture is related to "Discipleship", I made up some
sentences which are started with each letter from this word.
o Determine to be Jesus' followers.
o It's a life-time commitment.
o Serve the one who is in need.
o Come out to find the unbelievers.
o In and out the community.
o People can discern you as a
follower of Jesus.

each day.

brother or sister -in- Christ.

with the others.
o Holy Spirit lives in you.
o It's you make somebody's life different.
o Prayer is your weapon against
temptation.
