1. 如果你身處愚公的家,你會否去移山呢?何解?
如果有一座大山在面前,自己也不知會否如愚公般把山移去。
但如把愚公移山這個問題套用在作門徒之上,希望能看到愚公移山這故事與作門徒有甚麼關係,對我們有甚麼啟發。
在過去的課堂中,導師藉在生活層面上的處境來與大家討論分享作門徒的主題,盼望我們在這課題上有所反思,再而作出實際行動來回應。
我們信主後,知道要生命改變,過討神喜悅的生活,遵行主的大使命,作主的門徒。但實際上,在性格、時間、才幹、工作、家庭、學業……等等方面的限制及困難,都會以這些障礙給自己種種借口加以逃避。這些障礙也不正正就是在愚公家門前的那座大山。問題是我們願不願意像愚公那樣,下定決心把心裏面的那座大山移去,以致能毫無障礙的走到山的另一邊 – 神那裏去。
就如我們曾經在課堂上提出上課不遲到、抉擇和投資的討論。這裏引用導師在堂上提過的經文,在馬太福音6:21「因為你的財寶在那裏,你的心也在那裏。」試細味這句金句,是否在以上的處境中均可套用。
試拿遲到來看,如你認為神是你最珍貴的財寶,你會盡量準時返崇拜或上主日學。正如你要乘搭飛機往外地,你總會提早到機場辦理登機手續,不會在飛機起飛後才到機場。因為你的財寶在那裏,你的心也在那裏。
因此,我願意去把心裏的大山移去,但知道要移去這座山殊不容易,亦不是短時間內可以完成。但成聖須用工夫,而這功課更是一生學不完,願神加能賜力,讓我們在行事為人更像主耶穌,在作主的門徒上多加努力。願彼此共勉。

從最近的一個講座中常提到的一句金句是希伯來書11:1-2:「信就是所望之事的實底,是未見之事的確據。」所提到便是信 (信心)。

I
normally don’t pay much attention to the news.
As I have to do homework and try to answer this question, I gave it a
good thought and can’t decide if I will do it.
It reminds me of the debate happened recently on the Sheppard subway
line. The quote above is pasted from the
article as link below:

I think
the benefit on this subway line is more realistic in terms of time and
interest, comparing to the removal of the two huge mountains in front of
Foolish Grandpa’s house. Yet there is
voice of objection.
Why?
People like little venture, big gain.
The gain is also subjective. It
can be a gain to Mr. A but a loss to Mr. B.
Hong
Kong now has more lands than before due to the removal of mountains and shores
been filled. Without the pioneers’
insight on all these engineering projects, Hong Kong is not the same Hong Kong
as it is today. I admire the Foolish
Grandpa’s idea and courage to take action in such a difficult task. I don’t even dare to dream!

I am 後人 enjoying the fruit/achievement of the 前人, I should be also a前人 to plant for
the 後人. Being environmental is the minimum I can do.

answer is 'Yes". It is because it
will benefit my generations & other people.
Even though, I cannot see the successful result with my own eyes, I
expect my off-springs can see it after many & many generations.

My
life-principles are as the followings:
- I need to work hard as there is no free lunch in the world.
- As a Christian, I need to worship only my Lord.
- As a Christian, I need to bring the unbelievers into the Church.
- As a Christian, I can rely on my God in every situation.
- As a Christian, my greatest weapon is my prayers that can move God's hands.
- My life is short in this world, but I will have an ever-lasting life in the heaven in the future.
- I try my best and the Lord will do the rest.

Definitely
"no". There exist many obvious
and superior alternatives. He can build
a tunnel. He can construct a good foot
path. He can motivate other villagers before
attempting such a large-scale project. Also, the chance (after his death) that
his sons, his sons' sons... would continue the 'foolish project' is practically
zero. Therefore, it's a waste of energy
and resources.

Remember
this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows

馬太福音13:1-13 撤種的比喻
First of
all, I have reservations on using the 'investment' model with respect to
"spiritual gains" and matters of ultimate values. Beyond a certain
level, it's "more blessed to give than to receive". Also, different investment products are
designed to suit different "taste".
With respect to matters of ultimate values, it's not negotiable or
dependent on "taste".
Typically, believers escape from God's challenge by using the investment
model of "diversified investment" to suit their personal taste. They hope to gain the best of both worlds. Most importantly, the investment model
doesn't address our inner resources.
I prefer
the responsible-choice or "accountability" model. Besides 'time' and
our material 'resources', non-material resources like 'intention' and
'attention' are also important. (e.g. our heart...1 Sam 15:22) We have uneven
share of material resources. But
non-material resources are distributed almost evenly. How we use our resources
will ultimately shape the quality of our life (and our experience of it), in
both sides of heaven.
Using
investment terminology, responsible use of our resources (both material and
non-material) is a sure-win formula towards God's Kingdom. However, only aware of material values, many
believers underestimate the significance of the state of their heart. As a result, obedience, discipleship,
sanctification...etc. are classified as
secondary at best or worst as negotiable.
